Phil and Olly - where are they now?

5 April, 2012 2:12pm

Back when Virgin Media Shorts was knee high to a grasshopper, dynamic duo Phil Sansom and Olly Williams snapped up the first ever Grand Prize for their film The Black Hole, about a tired office worker who discovers a miraculous way to cash in after hours.

The boys couldn’t believe it when judge Kevin Spacey read out their name. ‘Winning was a complete surprise to us - we hadn't even invited anyone to the Awards night,’ says Phil.

They soon got over the shock though, and both jumped head first into what have now become absolutely terrific film making careers. After finishing their short Archaeology, made with the Virgin Media Shorts prize fund, between them they went on to direct 15 TV adverts for O2 last year and music videos for the likes of Robbie Williams, Will Young and Natalie Imbruglia. Not too shabby, eh? Now they're both super busy filming all over the world and we'll let you know what they get up to next.
