Vibration
25 June, 2012 1:27pm

This week we're taking a look at the blog for Vibration, by Stephen Richard Melling. The 2 minute 20 short about a young pianist confronting his fears was made especially for Virgin Media Shorts and its production is documented here. This is the kind of blog we really love - crammed with photos, interviews and behind the scenes info.

We meet the crew (Stephen says very nice things about all of them), find out about the directors (a once keen mountain biker who worked on 2011 Shorts finalist The Friend Catcher) and read the highs and lows of the film making process, such as:
'Highlights for this shoot was seeing the lead actor Callum gracefully blast away at the piano – completely in the moment. It was a pleasure to see such a talent play on such a piano. Well, it was for the first 25 or 30 shots – but with the piano ringing out so loud it kind of killed my ears after that. I think it took its toll on the rest of the crew as well but we all carried on like troopers.'
Watch the film now and then read the blog to find out more about it!
